COVID-19 Response from ESP
As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve, it is painfully apparent that our hospitality industry will take the initial economic brunt. Event cancellations, facility closures and travel bans have already manifested in a multitude of employee layoffs and widespread concern as to where our industry will land and how soon we can get back to business as usual.
Although our company acronym is ESP, we don’t have a crystal ball as to how this situation will be resolved. Wish we did. What we do have is a combined staff experience of well over 100 years. As ESP’s President says, “That’s a lot of bad economies.” And through the years, although not to this extent, ESP has dealt with many times of crisis: September 11th, the most recent banking crisis of 2009, Ebola, to name a few. And, what we have found in each case is that our industry is more than Force Majeure or Impossibility of Performance contract clauses. It is our human connection and the relationships we’ve developed over the years that have helped us to get through it and will help us to get through this Coronavirus outbreak as well.
